24X7 Yuva Helpline

SA-MUDRA FOUNDATION is operating YUVA HELPLINE for giving free counseling to youth with special focus on poor, rural and semi-urban youth. Distress counseling and guidance provided to around 10,500 students and families through YUVA Helpline and also through campus walk-ins on a one-on-one basis.

Introduction

SA-MUDRA pioneered and evolved the concept 24/7 Yuvahelpline since its inception - 14th September 2008.

SA-MUDRA has been instrumental in formulating policies for youth/students on various Government and Non Governmental platforms besides providing inputs on 24 x 7 Yuvahelpline and its youth focused activities.

PURPOSE

SA-MUDRA YUVA HELPLINE is a sustainable and viable tool for providing early and timely intervention on issues like personality, education & career, and also in emerging and non-emergent crisis situations as first respondent

WHY HELPLINE FOR YOUTH?

The changing trends in modern society and families leaves the youth confused, directionless, depressed and helpless. Yuvahelpline offers an effective way to provide callers with accurate information, counselling, and referrals to appropriate need based services or resources.

The anonymity aspect is key here, especially in working with youth, because it allows the caller to ask questions that may be difficult or awkward to address in a face-to-face context, especially in situations where they have no one to turn to.

Prevailing situation is also triggering fatal addictions among youth may it be to drugs, alcohol, smoking, electronic gadgets etc., which contributes to increasing rate in school/ college dropout besides driving them to adopt easy, illegal ways of survival.
